Atlas First is a travel company that plans and books unique trips for individuals and families, emphasizing wellness, adventure, and sustainable travel.

So here’s the story behind it…

I grew up around a travel agency that my father owns and operates in my hometown. My first jobs were putting together luggage tags ($0.01/tag) and paper tickets that my mother delivered all around town. Every day I witnessed the value of having someone working hard to ensure that a trip went smoothly in an industry that is fraught with risk and last minute changes.

Once I started buzzing around the world myself, I’m sure my father would steel himself for all the disasters that would come his way. I did cheap, 20 something travel when studying abroad. I did whirlwind, intercontinental business travel as a program manager. But despite my own travel missteps, I just grew to love it more and more.

When I’m traveling, I feel real empathy for how people work and live and eat. I form connections with places through fond or crazy memories. So I know that travel changes us in good and growing ways, but also that the anxiety of planning and booking trips can diminish the trip before we even head out the door.

With Atlas First, my priority is for travelers to look forward to their travel, even if it is for work or something somber. I want travelers to feel secure, physically when they are in new places but also virtually as they are making arrangements that involve their financial and personal profiles. I want to help create restful vacations and fun experiences that are unique and not necessarily beholden to any zeitgeist. And finally, my deepest hope is to help travelers be aware of the impact that they have on the places they go and the people around them with ethical and sustainable travel options.

I’d love to help with your travel plans and trip ideas. Let’s go!
